Does consuming more water actually a good diet? A study suggests that drinking more water may help burn calories each day. The study recommends that 50 calories per liter or quart of water.
Drinking Water While on “Starve Yourself”?

Drinking Water Momentarily Increases Metabolism
A regular drinking 500 millimeter of water amplified the study participants' metabolism for a short time. In that instance they burned an extra 25 calories. The researchers hypothesized that most of the result comes from warming the water in the stomach. In the male partakers the calories came typically from stored fat, in the women it came from stored carbohydrates. The paper was in print in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, December, 2003. It was conducted by researchers in Berlin.
