When Liver Admits Defeat!!!

Cirrhosis is a result of chronic liver disease exemplified by replacement of liver tissue by gristly scar tissue as well as regenerative nodules, resulting to progressive failure of liver function. Cirrhosis is most frequently caused by alcoholism and hepatitis C and B, but has lots of other potential causes.

Ascites (fluid retention in the abdominal cavity) is the most frequent complication of cirrhosis and is related with a deprived quality of life, bigger risk of infection, and a meager long-term outcome. Other potentially serious obstacles are hepatic encephalopathy (confusion and coma) and hemorrhage from esophageal varices. Cirrhosis is usually irretrievable once it occurs, and management “by and large” focuses on preventing progression and complications. In complex stages of cirrhosis the solitary alternative is a liver transplant.

Both are dangerous diseases but people lack awareness so much that you have to literally rub them on the wrong side to make them understand and take some action. Still, some take it very lightly.
