Aneurysm: Smiling and Deadly!!!

Monday, March 31, 2008

An aneurysm (or aneurism) is a “confined to a small area”, blood-filled dilation (balloon-like bulge) of a blood vessel caused by disease or deteriorating of the vessel wall and asymptomatic. Aneurysms most frequently take place in arteries at the bottom of the brain (the circle of Willis) and in the aorta (the major artery coming out of the heart), a so-called aortic aneurysm. The protuberance in a blood vessel can rupture and “show the way” to death at any time. The bigger an aneurysm becomes, the further likely it is to split open without.
